Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks a Senior Engineer to apply deep technical knowledge to complex engineering and construction projects and resolve emergent issues. This role is relied upon for cross-disciplinary solutions and may involve shift work.

A four-year ABET-accredited engineering degree is required; a Master’s may substitute for one year. Preferred: PE license and experience in the utility and nuclear sectors.

Qualifications

• PE license preferred and highly valued.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops and applies original solutions to complex technical issues.
• Makes decisions impacting project performance.
• Prepares engineering plans, designs, analyses, and cost estimates.
• Ensures analyses and designs comply with standards and regulations.
• Interacts with customers and management to present technical data.
• Mentors less experienced engineers and supports strategic site challenges.
