Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Engineer, Machine Learning Research and Development to lead applied AI/ML initiatives in biopharmaceutical development. You will build models, define roadmaps, and enable project teams to make data-driven decisions, working closely with scientists and IT to create scalable data workflows.

• PhD in Science, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Data Science, (AI/ML) or related field.
• 2 years of experience in ML R&D or related Senior Engineer ML role.
• Experience in biopharmaceutical development or related field is a plus.
• Strong programming and data wrangling skills.

Job Duties: Develop strategic roadmap and capabilities for applied AI/ML in Biopharmaceutical development. Requirements: Employer will accept a Ph.D. degree in Science, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Data Science, (AI/ML) or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Engineer, Machine Learning Research and Development-related occupation.

Position requires experience in:

• 1. Advanced therapies in science, development and production processes.
• 2. Leading strategic modeling programs and delivering solutions.
• 3. Utilizing strategic approaches to apply the best modeling techniques and leverage recent literature.
• 4. Applying machine learning modeling to support biopharmaceutical industry.
• 5. Programming languages including .net, Java, Perl, C++, Matlab, R, Julia or Python.
• 6. Wrangling and transforming high dimensional big data from established data warehouses.
• 7. Statistics, algorithm design, and module verification and validation.
• 8. Applying agile and waterfall approach SDLC.
• 9. JIRA, git, scrum, or confluence.
• 10. Principle and application of LLM (Large Language Models).
• 11. Cloud platforms including Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), or full-stack development.
