Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks an experienced Internal Auditor to execute world-wide audits per ISO, IATF and other standards and to support QMS certifications.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and Failure Analysis to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions across locations. The role requires knowledge of statistical tools, data analytics, and experience with semiconductor processes.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent; Master's preferred.
  • 5–7 years in electrical/electronic field/semiconductor industries.
  • Working knowledge of statistical concepts and tools (SPC, DOE, Regression Analysis, MSA, Minitab, JMP).
  • Basic programming and data analytics skills (Python, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Ability to address complex issues with in-depth evaluation across teams.
  • General knowledge of semiconductor products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Internal Audits for worldwide locations based on ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 14001, ISO 21434, IEC 62443.
  • Assist with 3rd party QMS certifications and audits at multiple locations.
  • Support integration activities related to acquisitions into Microchip's QMS.
  • Help manage certification activities and customer issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with WW factory teams to support process and system improvements.
  • Interface with new product development teams to improve release requirements.
  • Lead/c assist in achieving new QMS and Product Cybersecurity Certifications (ISO 21434, IEC 62443).
  • Resolve customer quality issues with Engineering, Failure Analysis, Sales, and Manufacturing.
  • Perform contract and feasibility review on customer specs and non-standard requests.
  • Develop as-is and to-be process maps; support quality improvement initiatives toward 0ppb.
  • Assist gap analyses and implement QMS standards; contribute to tool development with ML capabilities.

Job Description
Major job responsibilities
  • Perform Internal Audits for worldwide locations based on ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 14001, ISO 21434, IEC 62443 etc.
  • Assist with 3rd party QMS certifications and on-going 3rd-party audits at multiple designs and manufacturing locations.
  • Support integration activities related to company acquisitions into Microchip's QMS.
  • Help manage their certification activities
  • Support aspects of Customer issue resolution and problem solving.
  • Work with Microchip WW factory teams to support process/system improvements.
  • Interface to new product development teams; propose procedures/systems for improving new product releases and related requirements.
  • Lead and Assist Corporate Objectives in achieving new QMS and Product Cybersecurity Related Certifications such as ISO 21434, IEC 62443 etc.
  • Work to resolve customer quality issues; interface with Engineering, Failure Analysis, Sales and Manufacturing to identify root cause and implement Corrective Actions.
  • Perform contract and feasibility review on customer technical specifications and non-standard requests.
  • Work with engineering and factory to implement customer requirements.
  • Work with all company functions to review operations and propose procedures/systems for improving and streamlining operations
  • Develop as-is and to-be process maps.
  • Support quality improvement initiative and programs to achieve 0 ppb.
  • Assist with performing gap analysis, review and implementation of various QMS Standards and associated requirements into Microchip Processes
  • Assist and lead Corporate Quality Applications / Tool Development with ability to incorporate Machine Learning Capabilities into the tools developed for WW Microchip Locations.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or equivalent (E.g. Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Masters preferred 5-7 years of work experience preferably in an electrical/electronic field/Semiconductor Industries.
  • Have working knowledge of Statistical concepts and tools (e.g., SPC, DOE, Regression Analysis, MSA, Minitab, JMP, etc.)
  • Basic programming and data analytical skills (e.g., Python, Power BI, Tableau etc.)
  • Have excellent skills in problem solving and performing root cause analysis
  • Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation
  • General knowledge of semiconductor products
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven record of working on multiple projects either alone or with cross functional teams across multiple levels of the organization and presenting to leadership.
  • Possess excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Capable leadership skills necessary
  • Strong self-motivational ability
  • Flexible with travel and working with teams from multiple domestic and global time zones.
