Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and preparing related reports. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction issues. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports. Apply sound engineering principles and communicate complex issues effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Services may span sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring adherence to safety rules and guidelines. Promote a safe work environment and pre-task planning.
  2. Monitor and improve quality standards on projects.
  3. Ensure consistent quality standards in project and proposal delivery.
  4. Understand project-related risks and company policies related to risk management.
  5. Provide technical direction for routine and complex projects.
  6. Conceptualize initial designs or investigative approaches for major project phases or oversee engineering work on moderate scope projects.
  7. Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering tasks, including complex features with conflicting requirements.
  8. Review projects requiring innovative investigation techniques and supervise analysis and report formulation.
  9. Lead technical training and make informed decisions on technology issues.
  10. Contribute to marketing, sales, and business development efforts.
  11. Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support staff.
  12. Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 8-11 years of experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.

Preferred Certification:

  • Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.
