Are you an exceptional Environmental Site Investigation/Remediation (SI/REM) Engineer Professional looking to grow your career and lead our Portland Team? Join a well-established, nationwide company known for employee ownership and professional growth. Start your journey as a Senior Geologist in our Portland, Oregon office!

This position is based in Portland, OR, working closely with our Seattle team on projects across public and private sectors, including commercial, industrial, government, property development, and institutional markets.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Environmental Group Manager and Office Manager to supervise office and regional SI/REM teams, ensuring timely, budget-compliant work that meets client expectations.
  • Collaborate on proposals for site investigation, characterization, and remediation projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, from due diligence investigations to complex cleanups.
  • Coach and mentor staff on data quality and reporting standards.
  • Lead daily operations, focusing on safety, staff development, service quality, and client relations.
  • Engage in market development, client engagement, and team recruitment and mentoring.
  • Design and implement site characterization and remediation strategies, including soil removal, vapor assessments, and groundwater systems.
  • Support multidisciplinary teams in investigation and remediation planning, including RI/FS, Conceptual Site Models, CAPs, RAPs, and VCP applications.
  • Coordinate with other departments for project resources and manage project communications and reporting.
  • Oversee financial aspects like invoicing and collections, and understand project risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead development of complex investigation proposals using innovative techniques.
  • Supervise installation and O&M of remediation systems, providing technical support.
  • Apply standard practices, recognize data discrepancies, and ensure quality in fieldwork and deliverables.
  • Maintain proficiency in client management and environmental sector growth.
  • Promote safety and develop marketing strategies to showcase qualifications to clients.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Oregon State UST and Cleanup Programs, and Washington State Toxics Control Act regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in environmental investigations, remedial design, and implementation.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated technical writing ability.
  • Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
