Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a Lead Engineer to design the electrical heart of next‑generation off‑highway vehicles. You’ll craft complete electrical and control systems, from low‑voltage controls to 1200 VDC powertrains, and lead a team in labs and on vehicles.

You’ll mentor peers, ensure safety, and apply our tech in innovative ways for greener, smarter machines. You will collaborate across disciplines to bring concepts to life, testing in state‑of‑the‑art facilities and real vehicles, while driving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience.
  • Expertise in low‑voltage control systems, including schematics, wiring harnesses, and automotive components.
  • Experience with high‑voltage systems up to 1200 VDC, including VFDs, motors, and power converters.
  • Hands-on problem-solving with mobile and industrial communication protocols in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complete electrical and control systems—from low‑voltage controls to high‑voltage powertrains.
  • Take designs from concept to reality, building, installing, and testing in labs and on test vehicles.
  • Act as a system integration expert and support new product development with customers.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor, guiding other engineers to solve complex challenges together.
  • Champion safety and excellence, improving SOPs for high‑voltage systems.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design and develop the complete electrical and control systems—from low‑voltage controls to high‑voltage powertrains—for next‑generation off‑highway vehicles.
  • Take your designs from concept to reality, collaborating with a talented team to build, install, and test your systems in our advanced labs and on test vehicles.
  • Act as a key system integration expert, supporting new product development and working with customers to apply our technology in innovative ways.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor, sharing your expertise and guiding other engineers as you solve complex challenges together.
  • Champion a culture of safety and excellence, helping to improve our standard operating procedures for high‑voltage systems.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural, or a related Engineering field.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on electrical engineering experience.
  • Expertise in low‑voltage control systems, including designing electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, automotive‑style components and connectors.
  • Experience with high‑voltage electrical systems (up to 1200 VDC), including VFDs, electric motors, and power converters.
  • A hands‑on problem‑solver with familiarity with mobile and industrial communication protocols and experience in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
What You’ll Get From Us

The range for this position is $85,000 - $140,000. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
