Electric Propulsion System Engineers (EPSE) architect, design, and develop game-changing hybrid-electric propulsion system. EPSE engineers work across all CDS subdisciplines to help achieve program objectives of the CDS CIPT.
EPSE engineers apply skills from across a wide range of PW Engineering disciplines such as Performance, Operability, Mechanical Disciplines, Aerothermal Management, to develop, integrate and certify subsystems and hardware for Civil and Military customers. EPSE engineers work the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution.
EPSE engineers work collaboratively with industry partners, including key suppliers and customers, in a team environment, to advance the technology readiness level of emerging hybrid-electric systems and components. EPSE engineers support the concept design definition, system integration, prototype testing and product detail design development, certification and validation, both for systems and components. CDS develops complex, cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products, forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations. With growing emphasis on sustainability, CDS is on the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
