Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate core cloud infrastructure enabling scalable, reliable services for development teams. The role emphasizes Go, Python, Terraform, and monitoring practices to support fast feature delivery.

The position offers remote work within the United States (excluding California) with on‑call rotations and collaborative ownership of platform improvements across AWS/GCP/Azure environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical experience in software development or related field.

• Programming experience in Go, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and build the core infrastructure systems used by Jack Henry’s development and engineering teams.
• Debug critical production infrastructure issues impacting multiple services or sites, performing deep root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Design and operate systems with a strong focus on site health and reliability, enabling automated workload movement and failure avoidance.
• Use software development skills (e.g., Go, Python) to build and enhance platform solutions that improve developer velocity and accelerate feature delivery.
• Act as a proactive collaborator and emerging technical leader, promoting engineering best practices and guiding peers in areas such as design and coding standards.
• Partner closely with engineering teams to understand priorities and evolving needs, ensuring platform solutions keep pace with product development.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges and drive them to successful completion.
• May perform other job duties as assigned.

The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key contributor on Jack Henry Digital’s Cloud Infrastructure team, responsible for building and operating the core systems that enable scalable, reliable delivery of application and infrastructure services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our team owns deployment pipelines and collaborates closely with platform teams to deliver compute, identity, observability, tooling, and security capabilities across the organization.

We also collaborate deeply with product engineering teams to build high‑performance, scalable, and secure services that power core business functions including transactions, payments, deposits, transfers, authentication, and platform integrations. Our work sits at the heart of the platform and directly enables teams across the company to move faster and more safely.

This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California.

What you’ll be responsible for:

What you’ll need to have:

• Minimum of 6 years of technical experience in software development or related field.
• Preferred experience: C# Programmer, SQL admin, Debugging, Code management and Research and Development.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing containerized applications.
• Practical experience in declarative service infrastructure environments, specifically using Terraform.
• Experience in an AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud environment.
• Programming experience in Go, Python, or Rust.
• Experience designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry).
• Familiarity operating in a Unix/Linux shell.
• Must be able to participate in on‑call rotations.

What would be nice for you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency building and scaling custom Kubernetes controllers and operators.
• Experience managing production environments in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
• Experience with implementing and scaling relational databases, in‑memory data structure stores, and streaming data pipelines (e.g., AlloyDB, Memorystore, Pub/Sub).
• Familiarity with the left side of the Agile manifesto and operating within various methods of implementation.
