Job summary

Harris seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to lead HVAC design for commercial, healthcare, data center and other complex facilities. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-performance, code-compliant building systems that balance performance, efficiency and constructability.

You will evaluate design options from concept through construction, prepare specifications, and partner with BIM and construction teams to deliver top-quality project deliverables while guiding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 6–10 years in engineering design experience.
  • HVAC system design experience across varied building types.
  • PE license or active licensure progress preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HVAC system design, engineering calculations, equipment selections, and construction documentation.
  • Design heating hot water, chilled water, ventilation, refrigerant-based cooling, and building automation controls.
  • Prepare technical specifications and ensure code-compliant mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with BIM/digital design teams for high-quality project deliverables.
  • Support design reviews and identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Work with clients and stakeholders to evaluate needs and propose effective solutions.

In this role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative HVAC solutions that improve building performance, sustainability, and operational efficiency while supporting clients across a variety of industries.Role OverviewLead the design and development of HVAC systems for commercial, healthcare, mission critical, laboratory, aviation, and other complex facilities.Partner with engineers, designers, BIM professionals, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.Apply technical expertise to develop efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant building systems.Build strong relationships with clients and provide guidance on system performance, design strategies, and project solutions.What You'll DoYou'll help bring complex building systems to life, from early planning and concept development through construction support and project completion.
