Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking a Senior Engineer in Rochester/Binghamton, NY for the Testing & Commissioning department. The role focuses on planning, design, and engineering analyses within a regulated environment.

Office-based position requiring collaboration across teams. Minimum 5 years of gas engineering experience is required; a BS in Engineering is mandatory, with a Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience in gas engineering and/or related field.

Responsibilities

• Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation.
• Practical engineering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, field experience; develop business cases and defend before stakeholders.
• Engineering documentation - review and approve engineering work to ensure compliance with company standards and contract requirements.
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment - Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements.
• Good Interpersonal and communication skills.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology

Salary: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $86,000-$118,113

Required Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology; Master's Degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of technical experience in gas engineering and/or related field.
