Job summary

LiquidPiston seeks a Senior Engine Performance Engineer to drive data-informed development of rotary engines toward production. You will work with Chief Engineers, Design Engineers, and cross-functional teams to define data needs, design features, and calibration strategies, while developing test and analysis plans in collaboration with Test and Simulation Engineers.

This role emphasizes data analysis, interpretation of large datasets, and presenting insights to stakeholders through reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred for deeper analysis and modeling.
• Experience with engine performance data interpretation and test planning.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop data needs to inform engine architecture, features, and calibration strategies.
• Collaborate with Test Engineers to design and execute test plans for critical data.
• Work with Modeling and Simulation Engineers to define simulation plans and incorporate results.
• Perform rough order-of-magnitude analyses and basic GT-Power simulations as needed.
• Ensure quality and reliability of test results and report findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports with objectives, results, conclusions, and next steps.
