Responsibilities

• Support underwriting teams with risk assessments on existing and prospective accounts; attend meetings with customers and brokers.
• Monitor engineering services to ensure delivery is proper, timely and cost-effective.
• Perform field risk assessments to evaluate casualty and environmental exposures across the United States, primarily in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
• Provide consultative and risk mitigation services, identify exposures with loss potential, and evaluate safety programs.
• Assist in marketing risk engineering services with underwriting professionals and agents.

Senior Energy Risk Engineering Consultant

Zurich’s Risk Engineering Energy Casualty Team seeks a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant with casualty OGP experience in Houston Area. Primary duties include conducting risk assessments and providing safety consultation services to customers. This work-from-home role services customers within the U.S., and the expected travel time is up to 50%.

Sr Risk Engineering Consultant Job Duties Include:

• Manage account risk portfolio and provide account-level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
• Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce loss, improve customer safety operations, and generate service fees.
• Support underwriting teams by providing risk assessments on existing and prospective accounts. Attend customer and broker meetings to present service capabilities.
• Monitor engineering services to ensure delivery is proper, timely, and cost-effective.
• Perform field risk assessments to evaluate casualty and environmental exposures, along with the effectiveness of controls, at insured locations across the United States, primarily in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
• Provide consultative and risk mitigation services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, Root cause investigations of major losses, and evaluating safety management programs.
• Assist in marketing risk engineering services with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an associate’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area
  AND
• Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or OGP EHS
• 5+ years in downstream, midstream, and/or upstream operations
• Insurance loss control/risk engineering experience is a plus
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Proficient computer and software skills
• Self-starter; works independently, and takes initiative
• Customer-centric and relationship oriented with both internal and external stakeholders
• Oil and gas expertise with practical risk insights
• Strong time management, report turnaround, and follow-up
• Comfortable presenting to groups at all business levels
• Familiar with OSHA, DOT, OGP safety, and fleet programs

The proposedSalary range for this position is $100,200.00 - $164,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
