Job summary

FTI Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Consultant for Public Affairs in Houston, expanding energy and natural resources client programs. You will research, plan and execute strategic communications, writing memos, releases and pitches, while guiding account teams to meet client goals and grow relationships.

The role requires hands-on project management, strong writing/editing, and the ability to travel to clients and offices as needed. A background in energy sector public policy is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant industry or field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience (communications agency, state/federal government, journalism, think tanks, etc).
• Must possess superior research, writing and editing skills.
• Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.
• Energy, gas, and utility experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Play a role in the research, planning and development of comprehensive communication programs.
• Write and edit a variety of materials (e.g., memos, press releases, presentations, emails, media pitches, and web content).
• Manage client expectations and participate in preparing new business presentations.
• Address client issues thoughtfully and effectively.
• Assist in successfully growing existing accounts.
• Mentor junior colleagues and actively participate in firm initiatives.
