Constellation, a leading energy company, is seeking a highly experienced attorney to independently manage major matters and mentor other attorneys on project teams. The role involves providing legal counsel at senior management levels and overseeing complex transactions, litigation, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.
• At least 10-12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.
• Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments.
• Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a specialist in one or more fields of law, provides technical and expert legal services to Constellation Business Units. Under little or no supervision, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex legal assignments; evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly; represents Constellation in transactions, litigation or other relevant matters. Provides legal counsel to all levels of management, including senior management.
• Provides lead direction and/or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff.
• Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.
• Projects / duties as assigned.
