Job summary

The City of Chicago Law Department seeks an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Employment Litigation Division. The ACC will defend the City and public officials against discrimination and other civil rights claims, handling complex matters including class actions in federal and state courts.

The ACC will manage a personal caseload, try cases, draft pleadings and briefs, conduct discovery, and negotiate settlements under supervision of the Deputy Corporation Counsel.

Qualifications

• Experience in federal or state court litigation including motions practice and discovery.
