Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Senior Employee Relations Partner to manage high-risk ER investigations, advise executives, and guide policies with a focus on confidentiality and fairness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, HR or related field.
  • 5+ years HR experience including complex employee relations investigations.
  • 1+ years conducting investigations and advising on sensitive and complex ER issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when managing ER issues and investigating reported ER cases.
  • Acts as an advocate for equitable and fair treatment – ensuring practices align with company values.
  • Conducts investigations into sensitive matters including breaches of policies and laws.
  • Mentors and supports junior team members.
  • Identifies opportunities for alignment and improvement globally partnering with ER expert to deliver investigations and compliance lead or Learning and Development Lead.
  • Analyzes ER trends and recommends actions, solutions and strategies.
  • First level reviewer responsible for all terminations within area of business responsibility.
  • Acts as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, helping them balance business goals with employee welfare.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when managing ER issues and investigating reported ER cases.
  • Acts as an advocate for equitable and fair treatment – ensuring our practices continue to align to our company’s core values.
  • Handles investigations supporting sensitive matters including but not limited to violations of Labcorp's Anti-Harassment, EEO, Code of Conduct, Compliance, Conditions of Employment, Workplace Violence policies, gross misconduct, theft, or violation of federal, state, or local law.
  • Participate in various global employee relations projects and activities, for example leadership development and upskilling.
  • Mentors and support junior team members.
  • Identifies opportunities for alignment and improvement globally partnering with ER expert to deliver, such as Investigation and Compliance lead or Learning and Development Lead.
  • Analyzes ER trends and recommends actions, solutions and strategies to address opportunities.
  • First level reviewer responsible for all terminations within area of business responsibility.
  • Participates in various employee relations projects and activates.
  • Acts as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, helping them make informed decisions which balance business goals with employee welfare.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, human resources, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years HR experience including complex employee relations investigations.
  • 1 or more years conducting investigations and advising on sensitive and complex employee relations issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of Labor Relations experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience analyzing complex data, synthesizing insights, and developing executive-level PowerPoint presentations that tell a compelling story and drive informed business decision-making.
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR, CIPD, etc.).

  • Ability to summarize cases succinctly and give case reviews if required (to peers/legal/ER leaders) in order to make recommendations to the business.
  • Awareness of multiple HR disciplines and processes (i.e., compensation, benefits, talent acquisition).
  • Familiarity with case management tools such as ServiceNow and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with minimal guidance required.
  • Flexibility and willingness to deal with competing priorities and assist others as needed in a team environment.
  • Ability to look at processes analytically with the desire to innovate and improve.

The Senior Employee Relations Partner reports to Senior Employee Relations Manager. This role will conduct high risk investigations, managing employee issues to resolution, as well as advising on employee relations programs and policies. This position interfaces with all employees, including management, legal, HRBPs and external stakeholders, to maintain positive employee relations and resolve workplace issues between employees and management. Provides a proactive approach determine training needs ensuring upskilling of leaders occurs.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Application Window: August 28, 2026 Pay Range: $90,000-$115,000

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
