Heads Up Technologies in Kirkland, Washington seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to architect and own embedded software for in‑cabin systems. You will work on a Yocto‑based video encoder/decoder platform streaming HDCP content over IP, across Embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare‑metal environments.

The role covers end‑to‑end ownership from architecture to verification, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with hardware, FPGA, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in EE/CE/CS or related field.
• 8+ years embedded software experience.
• Experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded BSP bring-up.
• Experience with SoC architectures (Zynq, NXP, Qualcomm).

Responsibilities

• Own subsystem architecture and delivery for embedded products.
• Lead video encoder/decoder platform with HDCP over IP for cabin-wide distribution (RX/TX).
• Develop and maintain device drivers for audio/video subsystems.
• Debug across SoC platforms using scopes, JTAG, and trace tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate release planning.
• Manage component obsolescence and EOL transitions; evaluate alternate parts.
• Maintain certification-aligned processes and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate across FPGA, hardware, manufacturing, quality, and field teams.
