Job summary

Walmart’s VIZIO Embedded Software team develops cross-platform UI experiences for Smart TV customers running on embedded Linux devices. You will build high-performance, visually polished interfaces and collaborate with product, design, and system engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include developing UI applications, optimizing rendering and memory usage, and contributing to UI architecture components across SoCs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field.
• 2+ years experience in software engineering or related area (Option 1).
• 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (Option 2).
• Experience with UI frameworks, rendering pipelines, or embedded UI systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance UI applications running on an embedded Linux environment.
• Implement features within the UI engine and application stack with a focus on performance, smooth rendering, and system stability.
• Contribute to design discussions and support distributed UI architecture components.
• Build solutions that meet performance, memory, and device-level constraints across various SoCs.
• Investigate and resolve issues across UI layers, middleware, and system integration points.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and platform teams to ensure alignment on requirements and expected behaviors.
• Participate in code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
