A leading energy infrastructure company in Salt Lake City is seeking a Staff Embedded Systems Engineer to lead firmware development. In this role, you’ll mentor a team, create firmware across energy storage products, and ensure system integration. Ideal candidates have extensive experience with Python on Embedded Linux, solid understanding of serial protocols, and leadership skills. The position offers a competitive salary of $150,000 to $175,000, flexible remote options, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing commercial embedded software or firmware applications.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts to troubleshoot hardware integration issues.
• Proven track record leading or mentoring engineers on technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor firmware engineers to ensure architectural intent.
• Develop firmware features across energy storage product lines.
• Own system integration with hardware, data, and software teams.
• Drive quality through design reviews and automated testing.
• Debug and optimize embedded applications and communication interfaces.
• Support scaling operations in deployment tooling and remote monitoring.
