Annapurna Labs, the hardware-software integration arm within Amazon Web Services, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to advance software for ML accelerators and silicon platforms. You will contribute across the hardware life cycle, partnering with EC2 teams to build robust, scalable software for cutting-edge ML servers.
The role blends low-level hardware interaction with high-level software design to enable scalable ML workloads.
Annapurna Labs designs silicon and software that accelerates innovation. Customers choose us to create cloud solutions that solve challenges that were unimaginable a short time ago—even yesterday. Our custom chips, accelerators, and software stacks enable us to take on technical challenges that have never been seen before, and deliver results that help our customers change the world.
In Annapurna Labs we are at the forefront of hardware/software co-design not just in Amazon Web Services (AWS) but across the industry. The MLA Technology team is looking for candidates interested in diving deep into the different hardware technologies that power our Machine Learning servers and view the software to drive these technologies as the deliverable.

Our team writes software focused on hardware for the most advanced servers in the world. If that interests you, come join our team!
The MLA Technology team was formed to focus on server and accelerator debug, testing, qualification, and manufacturing. No software is too low level for us. No software is too high level for us. At a high-level our goal is to find ways to help the organization scale through the use of software and automation as it relates to specific hardware technologies.
Our team is comprised of excellent software engineers who are able to put on their hardware caps and excellent hardware engineers who are able to put on their software caps. We blend worlds between hardware and software, focusing on fixing problems for a living fleet of accelerators at scale.
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge-sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects that help our team members develop your engineering expertise so you feel empowered to take on more complex tasks in the future.
