Job summary

ScioTeq LLC seeks a senior embedded software engineer to design and implement features for rugged products. You will deploy and configure embedded Linux and coordinate with hardware/firmware teams to integrate software with new hardware platforms.

You will troubleshoot issues, manage CM and release schedules, and explore emerging technologies to maintain competitive edge in harsh environments. Strong communication and self-motivated teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 7-15 years embedded software design experience required.
• BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE degree required.
• C/C++ coding and debugging expertise essential.
• Embedded Linux experience, Yocto preferred.

ScioTeq Rugged Smart Display and Computer products are designed to provide high computing and video processing performance in extreme operating environments governed by MIL STD and EN military specifications. Designed with the latest commercially available CPU modules, we use embedded ARM microprocessors to sequence startup, handle HMI interfaces, coordinate I/O and control video processing. These products are rarely sold as “off the shelf” products. Customers typically require customization for their specific applications and requirements. This often requires creative problem solving, coordination with hardware and firmware engineers, and adaptable software designs. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer has the following main responsibilities:

• Research toward related emerging technologies and tools

Qualifications

• 7-15 years embedded software design experience
• BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE required
• C/C++ coding and debugging expertise
• Expertise with Linux on embedded systems, Yocto preferred
• Real-time embedded software system design experience
• Hardware abstraction and board bring up experience highly desired
• ARM secure boot experience preferred
• Familiarity with setting up and maintaining a development environment, tools, servers, and source code control system
• Algorithmic application development and optimization experience
• Must be a self-motivated team player
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
