Job summary

Mission Critical Electronics, LLC (MCE) seeks an embedded software engineer to design, develop and test embedded software for mission-critical systems. You will code in C/C++ for microcontrollers and microprocessors, collaborate with hardware engineers on requirements, and ensure robust, scalable software across RTOS and embedded Linux platforms.

The role emphasizes unit testing, debugging, documentation, and staying current with industry advancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, embedded Linux and RTOS.
• Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors and hardware-software integration.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CANBUS, MODBUS) and device drivers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software solutions for microcontrollers and microprocessors.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and specifications.
• Write efficient, modular and well-documented code in C/C++.
• Work with testing teams to ensure software meets quality standards.
