Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Automotive Embedded C development and ECU/controller-based software engineering.

The ideal candidate will have end‑to‑end experience across the automotive software development V‑Cycle, including requirements analysis, software architecture, design, coding, code reviews, debugging, and verification. The candidate should be capable of taking technical ownership of embedded software development activities while providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

We are particularly interested in engineers who have developed embedded software for automotive control systems such as Airbag, Battery Management Systems (BMS), Body Control Modules (BCM), automotive seating systems, and motor control applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and debug automotive embedded software using Embedded C, with C++ experience considered an advantage.
  • Work across the complete software V‑Model/V‑Cycle, from requirements analysis through implementation, integration, verification, and release.
  • Analyze system and software requirements and translate them into software specifications and detailed design.
  • Contribute to software architecture, module design, and technical decision‑making for ECU/controller‐based applications.
  • Perform hands‑on coding, debugging, optimization, and code reviews to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, software design, implementation, and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware, and software teams to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless hardware‑software integration.
  • Support unit testing and software verification activities as part of the development lifecycle.
  • Follow automotive software engineering standards, coding guidelines, and quality processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers, review their technical work, and provide guidance on software design, coding practices, and development processes.
  • Participate in technical reviews, root‑cause analysis, defect resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development.
  • Strong hands‑on programming skills in Embedded C and experience developing software for automotive ECUs or controllers.
  • Proven experience in requirements analysis, software architecture/design, coding, and code reviews.
  • Experience working across the complete V‑Model/V‑Cycle, with an understanding of how development and verification activities are connected.
  • Experience in one or more automotive control domains, such as:
  • Airbag and occupant safety systems
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS) and electrification
  • Body Control Modules (BCM) and body electronics
  • Automotive seating and comfort systems
  • Motor control and actuator‑based applications
  • Experience with software debugging, defect analysis, and embedded system troubleshooting.
  • Ability to take technical ownership, collaborate across engineering teams, and mentor junior developers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AUTOSAR Classic or other automotive embedded software architectures.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, real‑time operating systems (RTOS), and hardware‑software interfaces.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA C, and automotive software quality standards.
  • Experience with Vector tools, CANoe/CANalyzer, requirements management tools, and version control systems.
  • Exposure to unit testing, software integration, and requirements‑based verification.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a development-focused automotive embedded software engineer, not someone whose experience is primarily limited to testing or validation.

Candidates should demonstrate practical experience in:

  • Hands‑on Embedded C development for automotive ECUs/controllers.
  • Requirements analysis and software architecture/design.
  • Coding, debugging, and conducting code reviews.
  • Working across the complete V‑Cycle.
  • Technical ownership, problem‑solving, and mentoring junior engineers.
Profiles Not Aligned with This Role

Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on the following areas are not the target profile:

  • Validation or testing without substantial embedded software development experience.
  • Software integration without hands‑on coding and design responsibilities.
  • Infotainment, audio, navigation, or multimedia systems.
  • Mobile application development or app‑focused software engineering.
