Job summary

Stryker seeks a collaborative Senior Software Engineer to lead software sustainment for released medical device products. You will investigate issues, implement design changes, and partner across functions to deliver high-quality solutions with patient impact.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, judgment, and a commitment to quality and reliability. You will mentor peers and contribute to post-market activities and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems using C, C++, and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with IDEs, static/dynamic analysis, and code coverage tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment
  • Code development time/resource estimation to support sustainment projects
  • Generate and review documents to support software sustainment projects. (requirements/design/architecture/bugs/test)
  • Be proficient with and mentor others in usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations
  • Follow and mentor others on post market/sustainment procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System
  • Support post-market / sustaining engineering activities, including investigation and resolution of product issues in the field and manufacturing
  • Drive design changes and continuous improvement efforts for released products (e.g., CAPAs, nonconformances, reliability issues)
  • Act as a technical SME for production line escalations, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

What You Will Need:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems using C, C++, and/or Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable with integrated development environments (IDE) for projects
  • Knowledgeable with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software
  • Knowledge in integration and deployment processes
  • Software Development Life Cycle processes
  • Knowledge in creating estimates for code implementation time/resource for assigned tasks and projects
  • Knowledge from using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools
  • $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual
