Job summary

Verso Recruitment is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for our Southampton, Hampshire based offices. You will take software designs from concept through to manufacture, developing embedded C/C code for RTOS-based systems and collaborating across engineering and other departments.

The role focuses on supporting delivery of a new product with hybrid working options and on-site presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience taking software design projects from concept to manufacture.
• Strong background in Embedded C/C development.
• Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with communication protocols advantageous.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and debug firmware against hardware schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a new product currently being designed for customers.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, projects, procurement and sales teams.
• Liaise with other departments and engage in occasional customer interaction.

The aim of the role is to support the delivery on a new product currently being designed for their customers.

The culture is collaborative and friendly, with ample opportunity to liaise with the engineering team, quality, projects, procurement, sales, and other departments, with occasional customer interaction.

The successful Senior Embedded Software Engineer will have experience with:

• Experience in taking software design projects from concept to manufacture.
• Strong background in Embedded C/C development.
• Experience with bare metal programming
• Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience with communication protocols would be advantageous
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and debug firmware against hardware schematics

The successful candidate will be offered hybrid working options but would need to commit to 3 days a week on site.
