Job summary

Lucix Corporation in Camarillo, CA, seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and verify complex embedded software for spaceborne products. You will own design to deployment, coordinate with senior engineers, and drive verification across SOC environments, including ARM Cortex processors and FPGA interfaces.

The role requires hands-on work with embedded Linux, UDP/IP networking, and Xilinx toolchains, with a focus on robust, verifiable software for demanding aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Expertise with embedded software design for ARM CORTEX or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Python and C language.
• Experience with embedded Linux development.
• Strong knowledge of UDP/IP networking over Ethernet.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx devices and tools (Vivado, Vitis).
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify embedded software in SOC devices used in Lucix products.
• Interface with senior engineers to implement communication protocols and data handling in ARM Cortex environment.
• Conduct trade studies to decide between third‑party IP and in‑house development.
• Design embedded architecture interfacing processor and programmable logic.
• Maintain code base in version control systems.
• Develop hardware/software test fixtures and bench verification.
• Support end‑to‑end testing of final products.

Lucix also provides RF hardware for Airborne and Ground Systems. All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and shipped from Lucix facilities in California, USA.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. You will be developing and verifying complex digital designs for use in spaceborne products across our commercial and defense programs. Must be a self‑starter & team player who can take ownership of a project from design to deployment under a rapid pace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of embedded software and related digital designs in system‑on‑chip (SOC) devices as part of Lucix products
• Interface with senior engineers to implement communication protocols, data handling, and system management in an embedded ARM CORTEX processor environment
• Perform trade studies to identify functions that can be purchased as third‑party intellectual property (IP) versus internal development
• Assist in creating embedded architecture, performing trade studies to determine which functions should be executed within the embedded processor, which should be implemented in programmable logic fabric, and how to interface between the two domains
• Maintain code base in the company's version control system
• Develop software and hardware test fixtures to verify the functionality of the embedded code and the overall system
• Perform bench‑level verification of the implemented code in the final system, and assist with test of the overall product

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science

• Proficiency with MATLAB software
