Job summary

Leidos in San Diego, CA, seeks an Algorithm Software Engineer to design, develop, and hardware/software integrate cutting-edge signal-processing applications. You will port MATLAB/C++ algorithms to C for Leidos SoCs, optimize for real-time DSP performance, and build hardware-in-the-loop tests while collaborating with diverse signal-processing, embedded, and RF teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
• 8+ years of software development experience, including strong C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with MATLAB and signal-processing algorithms.
• Experience with build tools such as GCC, CMake, or Make.
• Experience with version control (e.g., git, Subversion) and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for developed software.
• Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of advanced systems as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Design, implement, and test C applications in a real-time environment.
• Understand and analyze signal processing algorithms developed in MATLAB.
• Port signal-processing algorithms to C for multi-core execution on Leidos SoCs.
• Optimize C code for DSP applications to achieve real-time performance.
• Develop hardware-in-the-loop tests to validate signal-processing algorithms.
• Communicate technical details of software to engineers.
• Support system field testing and data collection events.
