Job summary

Aurora in Mountain View is seeking a seasoned Staff Embedded Linux Developer to architect system-level software for our next-generation embedded platforms. Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on embedded Linux development and board bring-up.
• Deep Yocto Project expertise with custom layer development.
• Strong C/C++ programming for embedded/kernel-level development.
• In-depth Linux kernel internals, memory management, scheduling, drivers.
• Experience debugging with GDB, JTAG, oscilloscopes, and Lauterbach.
• Excellent problem-solving, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, customization, and maintenance of BSPs for hardware platforms using Yocto.
• Configure, build, and optimize Linux kernel, U-Boot, and rootfs for custom hardware.
• Develop and debug Linux device drivers for PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, USB.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up; diagnose at register level.
• Implement PCIe functionalities including DMA, memory management, interrupts.
• Work with BIOS/UEFI configurations and embedded Linux integration on platforms.
• Optimize boot time, memory footprint, and power for embedded devices.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and automated tests for the embedded stack.
• Participate in design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and develop unit tests.
