Job summary

Latitude AI develops automated driving technologies and collaborates with Ford on scale. The team spans ML, robotics, cloud, mapping and sensors to improve driving safety and experience.

Based in the US, Latitude operates as a Ford subsidiary with independent product teams and engineering centers in Dearborn and other locations. The Onboard Platform team focuses on embedded OS bring-up, bootloaders, secure boot and real-time communication.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, Robotics or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded, Buildroot, or similar Linux packaging tools.
  • Experience writing Linux device drivers for Ethernet, GPU, PCIe, or flash devices like UFS/eMMC/OSPI.
  • Bootloader experience, including U-Boot or UEFI, and Secure Boot knowledge.
  • Strong embedded C++ development experience; leadership in automotive contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, test, and maintain Board Support Packages for a variety of platforms.
  • Develop a custom bootchain for the platform.
  • Develop and maintain the custom Linux OS running on our ADAS platforms.
  • Implement secure boot mechanisms.
  • Implement recovery boot workflows.
  • Manage CVEs throughout the lifecycle of the platform.
  • Configure IPC mechanisms to enable communication between Real-Time and Application domains.
  • Work closely with hardware, software and system engineers to ensure the success of our product.
