Job summary

Zebra Technologies is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to analyze, design, program, and implement firmware for Zebra’s Thermal printer products. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, ARM, RTOS, and embedded Linux, with focus on platform libraries and device drivers.

This hybrid on-site position is based in Lincolnshire, IL, requiring at least three days on-site weekly. You'll lead firmware development phases, review results, and collaborate across teams to improve performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with 6+ years (or 4+ with masters) of relevant firmware experience.
• Significant experience delivering platform product embedded firmware development.
• Proficient in C/C++.
• Experience with ARM architecture, embedded microcontrollers, multi-core systems, RTOS, embedded Linux, filesystems, storage, networking, platform libraries.
• Skills in platform architecture, OO programming, design patterns, device drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware design projects and participate in requirements meetings.
• Review firmware test results and resolve issues.
• Develop and patch firmware; extend existing designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve performance and quality.
• Advance internal processes to improve efficiency and execution.
