Job summary

Broadata Communications, Inc. (BCI) in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to firmware development for Pro AV products. This on-site role emphasizes hands-on engineering, design reviews, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will craft robust firmware in C for Arm Cortex M/STM32, participate in board bring-up, verification, and documentation, and drive feature-rich improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of hands-on embedded system design and firmware/software development.
• Proficiency in C.
• Experience with Arm Cortex M/STM32 micro-controllers.
• Experience with peripheral communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PWM).
• Applied scripting techniques (shell scripting, Perl, Python).
• Knowledge of hardware schematic.
• Experience with FPGA, Verilog preferable.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for new video system designs and perform testing.
• Modify firmware to improve performance and add features.
• Document firmware designs with specs and comments.
• Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for video and power systems.
• Review software components and systems.
• Verify and validate design through board bring-up and environmental testing.
• Collaborate with Production, Marketing, and Sales for requirements and testing.
• Assist in firmware development for new products and prototypes.
• Prepare end-user documentation.
