Job summary

Downtown Boulder Partnership is seeking an Electrical and Embedded Firmware Engineer in Danbury, CT. The role focuses on designing microprocessor-based electromechanical products and driving them from concept to manufacturing release.

You will develop detailed design plans, coordinate schedules with internal teams and subcontractors, and ensure projects meet budget and performance specifications with robust testing and compliance processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Ten years of manufacturing product development and design experience in electronic/electro-mechanical products.
Experience designing RS-485, Ethernet, USB, and wireless communications products.
Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers (LPC1700 Series, STM32).
Embedded software development using C and C++.
Knowledge of closed-loop control systems using feedback variables (airflow, pressure, temperature).
Troubleshooting and debugging electronic products and systems.
Experience with ultrasonic sensors, BACnet MSTP/IP, Modbus, Ethernet, and LCD touch-screen integrations.

Responsibilities

Design microprocessor-based electromechanical products from concept to manufacturing release.
Develop detailed design plans and specifications based on requirements and budget.
Create project schedules and coordinate team and subcontractor activities to stay on track and within budget.
Use CAE/design tools to perform engineering tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
Develop test specs and conduct design verification testing to meet performance requirements.
Coordinate pre-compliance and agency testing (CE/UL).
Provide technical training and support to engineering, manufacturing and sales teams.
Perform other duties as needed by supervisor or manager.
