Qualifications

• Academic or industry specialization in electromagnetics is required.
• 5–10 years of technical experience in a relevant industry or research environment.
• Ability and interest in mentoring students and junior engineers.

• Track record of inventiveness and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Drive complex problems to design and develop precision instruments.
• Mentor less experienced Hardware Instrument engineers.
• Design experiments and precision instruments to validate concepts.
• Collaborate to design prototype and production hardware meeting needs.
• Integrate precision instruments into larger systems and meet performance metrics.
• Develop fabrication processes for custom instruments.
• Prepare formal technical documents, reports and test results.
• Provide training related to devices to employees, subcontractors and customers.
