Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Experienced Electronics Technician to support NSWC PCD in Panama City, FL, joining a multidisciplinary team to advance unmanned systems for military defense and safety.

You will design mixed-signal hardware, create schematics and PCB layouts, and ensure EMI/EMC compliance while performing system bring-up. The role requires working with C/C++ on embedded hardware, running Spice simulations, testing hardware, and documenting designs.

Qualifications

  • Active Interim Secret Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a strictly related discipline.
  • 5 years of similar/related experience.
  • 3 years of experience in embedded hardware design and full product lifecycle development.
  • Extensive experience in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, Siemens Xpedition, or equivalent).
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of both digital and analog circuit design.
  • Experience with embedded communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232/485, CAN, Ethernet, USB).
  • Moderate proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems programming.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers and power management; sensor interfaces.
  • Create detailed schematics and perform multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Ensure adherence to signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Implement microprocessors into designs using C/C++.
  • Run test simulations using Spice software (LTspice, Pspice).
  • Assemble, test, and perform bring-up of hardware prototypes.
  • Utilize lab equipment to verify performance against specifications.
  • Develop and execute hardware test plans, including thermal and reliability testing.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues down to component level.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation and BOMs.
