Job summary

HR On Demand is seeking a Quality Engineer to own QA for SMT and electronics assembly lines in a fully onsite Texas manufacturing environment. You will establish quality processes and documentation from the ground up and lead root-cause analyses with 8D/SCAR/CAPA alongside process, test and manufacturing teams (and the Taiwan HQ).

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in quality engineering or quality assurance in electronics/hardware manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools: PPAP, SCAR, CAPA, SPC, PFMEA, 8D.
• Experience leading quality improvement initiatives in a production environment.
• Comfortable working fully onsite in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own quality assurance and inspection standards for SMT and electronics assembly production.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues (e.g., 8D, SCAR, CAPA).
• Monitor quality metrics (SPC, PFMEA, FAI) and drive continuous improvement to raise yield and reduce scrap.
• Support SMT process quality, including solder paste/SPI, AOI, X-ray, and ICT results.
• Create and maintain quality documentation: control plans, work instructions, SOPs, and inspection criteria.
• Help establish and maintain the site QMS in line with ISO 9001; support internal and customer audits.
• Manage material review board (MRB) and incoming quality control (IQC) processes.
• Partner with Process, Test, and Manufacturing teams to prevent quality escapes.
