CAEtech seeks a Senior Electronic Lab Technician in Raleigh, NC for an 18-month, full-time contract to support advanced electronic design, development, testing and research activities. The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, leadership, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior technicians.
• Mentor and support development of less-experienced laboratory personnel.
• Identify opportunities to improve laboratory methods, testing approaches and technical processes.
• Maintain accurate technical records, test documentation and supporting laboratory information.
• Stay current with relevant electronic technologies, tools and industry developments.

CAEtech is seeking a Senior Electronic Lab Technician to support advanced electronic design, development, testing and research activities in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is a full-time contract position with benefits, with an anticipated assignment duration of 18 months.

The position requires extensive hands-on electronics laboratory experience combined with advanced technical knowledge, troubleshooting capability and leadership. The technician will support the design and development of complex electronic systems and components, conduct advanced testing and experimentation, troubleshoot sophisticated electronic systems, and provide technical guidance to junior laboratory personnel.

Skills Required

• Extensive knowledge of electronic design, development and testing.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and electronic simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
• Advanced hands-on experience with electronic laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience using equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability for complex electronic systems.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and identify effective solutions.Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor less-experienced technical personnel.

Skills Preferred

• Experience with RF, EMC and environmental testing.
• Familiarity with applicable standards and requirements such as IPC and FCC.
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL for FPGA-related development.
• Project-management or technical-leadership experience.
• Advanced technical certifications related to electronics or electrical engineering.

Education Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Education Preferred

• Master’s degree or advanced technical certification in a related discipline.

Experience Required

• 10+ years of laboratory or technical experience focused on electronic design, development and testing.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

The position involves extensive hands-on work in an electronics laboratory environment using advanced test instrumentation, electronic hardware, development tools and associated laboratory equipment.
