Kent Scientific Corporation is expanding manufacturing in Nashville and seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to build the capability from the ground up. You will own the electromechanical production line, from shop floor layout to final test, and work with the founder on design refreshes and prototyping.

This is a hands-on, leadership role in a growing life-science instrumentation company. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, with experience setting up

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing, production, or process engineering, electromechanical focus.
• Experience setting up or reworking production lines and shop floors.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing (Kaizen, value stream mapping, standardized work, 5S, pull systems). Six Sigma is a plus.
• Experience with electrical assembly and overseeing PCB modification, wiring, and soldering.
• Involvement in design for manufacturability and prototyping is valued.

Responsabilités

• Lead setup of Nashville electromechanical production line, layout, workstations, process flow.
• Transition production from outsourced partners to in-house assembly over time.
• Design, implement, and monitor production processes from assembly to final test and quality.
• Apply lean principles to reduce waste and optimize inventory and batch sizes.
• Review designs to improve manufacturability and cost.
• Support product line refreshes including finding suitable replacements.
• Collaborate on prototyping and product design, including 3D printing and model shop work.
• Integrate in-house machining with electromechanical and pneumatic/fluidic assembly.
• Build, train, and lead a small production team; stay hands-on as needed.
• Inform make-vs-buy decisions and support market launch with sales/marketing.
