Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About The Team

The Anduril Imaging team develops state-of-the‑art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The team is heavily involved in utilizing computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to give our war fighters and allies an advantage.

About The Job

As a Senior Electro - Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, ensuring the highest quality of production, and supporting the development and implementation of new products. You will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and increasing efficiencies on existing technologies while also developing new products and scaling to full scale production. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting‑edge defense hardware. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value‑chain, including, but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to operational excellence with a strong continuous improvement mindset and leading impactful Kaizen events
  • Be a strong partner with Product Quality Engineering to drive and support RCCA burndowns that tackle key issues both internally and externally to Production
  • Troubleshoot and drive to root cause in complex mixed-signal systems
  • Implement corrective action to improve first-pass yield (FPY) and overall production performance
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering teams in early to late phases of the development process to provide DFx for smooth NPI transitions
  • Develop process flows, breaking down large, complex assemblies into a logical part flow of subassemblies and sub-processes
  • Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.
  • Work with contract manufacturers across various disciplines (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly, etc.) to develop repeatable, sustained processes for quick-turn development as well as at-scale production
  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware
  • Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication and inspection, etc.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in a technical field preferred such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource‑constrained environment
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, wire harness assembly/repair, assembly, etc.)
  • Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience using electrical debug tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQs, and programmable power supplies
  • Prior experience working with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) or equivalents
  • Experience with electromechanical products that require system AI&T (assembly, integration, and test)
  • Proficiency in communicating technical challenges to a variety of audiences, up to and including site leadership
