Job summary

KBR, Inc. seeks a Sr. Technician – Electro Controls for telescope systems at the AMOS Site in Maui, Hawai‘i.

You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and supervise electrical and electronic control systems that enable continuous 24x7 telescope operations in a high-altitude observatory. This role focuses on power distribution, instrumentation, control systems, and electrical infrastructure, with leadership responsibilities and collaboration with engineers and government customers.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required with 5+ years of related electrical or controls experience.
• Demonstrated experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical/electronic control systems.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and maintain electrical raceway systems per NEC and site standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/control systems and instrumentation loops.
• Read and verify drawings, specifications, and document tests and changes.
• Lead and supervise technicians; ensure safety and compliance.
