Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Senior Electrician to perform electrical operations and maintenance across the site. Shift is 7am-5pm, 5 days per week with weekend and holiday work as necessary.

You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment, power generation, and UPS. Proficient in reading drawings, using Maximo, and ensuring safety and cGMP compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school/GED + 2 years electrical maintenance or military experience.
  • Associate’s degree + 6 months electrical maintenance experience.

Job description

Senior Electrician

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for performing electrical operations and maintenance activities throughout the ATO site. The shift pattern will be 7am-5pm, 5 days per week with weekend and holiday work as necessary.

  • Operate and maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems
  • Operate and maintain backup power / emergency power generation systems and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair, and installation of electrical equipment and systems
  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance and repair activities on complex equipment and systems used across ATO in B23/42, B20, B7, B6, & B31
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems
  • Identify equipment performance opportunities and recommend improvements to the maintenance program owners
  • Ensure work activities are completed correctly and maximize right the first time execution
  • Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to maximize the quantity of activities completed
  • Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders
  • Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely
  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation
  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance
  • Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with quality
  • Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and cGMP’s
  • Lead by example and create a positive, respectful, professional and consistent work environment at all times
  • Provide on time and accurate communication of issues and updates/reports as necessary
  • Flexibility to provide support when required—this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Basic Qualifications
  • High school/GED + 2 years of electrical systems/maintenance related work or military experience
  • Associate’s + 6 months of electrical systems/maintenance related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • California electrician certification as an Electrician Trainee (ET), completing 720+ hours of approved schooling, and gaining 4,800–11200 hours of documented on‑job experience
  • 5+ years Electrical and Utilities systems experience
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of industrial electrical generation and power distribution systems (480/208/120 volts)
  • NFPA 70E Training
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Knowledge and experience working in a highly regulated function
  • Proven equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to execute work orders in the Maximo computerized maintenance management system
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs and equipment schematics and wiring diagram
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and technical advice to others

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
