Job summary

Hut 8 seeks an Electrical SME for Managed Services to embed in a data center build, ensuring operable and maintainable electrical systems at turnover. You will review designs, witness testing, and support energization while driving safety and reliability.

You will lead operability reviews, perform phase verifications, and ensure proper turnover documentation. A strong background in NETA testing and NFPA 70E is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in critical facilities electrical operations, commissioning, or NETA-adjacent roles.
• Deep knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, protective devices, generator and UPS systems, EPMS/power monitoring.
• Commissioning witness experience through integrated systems testing in mission-critical environments.
• NFPA 70E fluency and real switching/LOTO experience.
• NETA testing literacy and ability to read reports critically.
• Maintainability instincts in design review: clearances, access, isolation paths.
• Strong turnover documentation discipline: settings files and test records.

Responsibilities

• Perform operability design reviews of MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS, and EPMS.
• Participate in construction phase verification: equipment clearances, torque, grounding, cable management.
• Witness testing and commissioning: protective devices, transfer sequences, load bank tests, and system integration.
• Assist turnover readiness: verify test records, settings files, one-lines, and accurate as-builts.
• Support energization sequences and early operations; refine operating procedures.
• Contribute to program feedback to update electrical standards and basis-of-design decisions.
