Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking an electrical hardware engineer to develop vehicle electrical systems and architecture across dynamics, body, thermal, and safety domains. The role mixes computer work with hands-on activity and may involve travel, based in our Irvine office and reporting to Engineering Manager.

You’ll decompose features to architecture, own hardware design, and drive verification and validation with domain and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Systems preferred).
• 4+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support feature development from architecture to system level.
• Own hardware system requirements and design across domains.
• Develop and execute verification and validation test plans.
• Use first principles to solve design challenges and reduce cost.
• Analyze new technology options and perform trade studies.
• Leverage experience to define next steps beyond direction.
