Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS, is seeking a quality inspector to visually inspect in-process and completed products, read blueprints, and verify conformance to specifications. The role uses measuring devices and follows customer specifications and checklists.

Responsibilities include accepting, rejecting or reworking defective units and performing line clearances after each lot to ensure materials from the previous lot have been removed. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience; or Apprenticeship/Associate's Degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Must be able to read blueprints and use measuring devices.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect visually in-process and completed products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and inspection drawings; use dial indicators and micrometers.
• Accept, reject or rework defective units and perform line clearances between lots.

Education

Associate's Degree or Apprenticeship in relevant discipline
