Job summary

MSA Professional Services is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Electrical in the Des Moines, IA area to lead electrical design for building projects serving students, educators, and government clients. Hybrid or in-person work options are available from our Des Moines office.

The role requires a PE license, 6+ years of relevant experience, and strong collaboration with architects, civil engineers, and construction professionals. Relocation or sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (electrical focus).
• PE license required; willingness to obtain additional state licensure as needed.
• Experience in designing electrical systems for buildings; K-12 school/municipal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on projects in the community.
• Build and maintain relationships with school districts, municipal clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
• Coordinate with AHJs and utility providers for compliance and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff; contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
