Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Electrical Engineer to lead system-level investigations on deployed power systems for Communications and Data Center markets. You will drive root cause analysis, testing, field data collection, and corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

The role requires expertise in electrical design, controls, and system integration, with ability to investigate complex failures across components and subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in power systems or data center infrastructure.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems.
• Experience with laboratory testing and failure analysis techniques.
• Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system-level failure investigations involving power systems, controls, firmware, electrical hardware, and subsystem interactions.
• Perform root cause analysis using engineering analysis, testing, data review, and structured problem-solving methods.
• Support field investigations through site visits, data collection, log reviews, and failed hardware analysis.
• Develop and execute test plans to reproduce field conditions and validate failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate failed components and identify root causes.
• Prepare and communicate technical findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support customer-facing discussions related to failure investigations and corrective actions.
• Identify recurring failure trends and recommend improvements to product reliability and field performance.
