Job summary

Fervo is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to drive electrical system studies for geothermal plants and interconnections. You will lead transient, dynamic stability, and protective analyses using PSCAD, PSLF, and ETAP, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping standards.

Qualifications

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in power systems engineering.
• Proficiency in PSCAD for EMT and TOV studies.
• Proficiency in PSLF/PSSE and ETAP for dynamics and protection.
• Experience with grid interconnection studies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform transient overvoltage studies using PSCAD for geothermal facilities and interconnections.
• Conduct dynamic stability and power flow analyses in PSLF/PSSE/ETAP.
• Size equipment via short-circuit analysis and coordinate protection schemes.
• Lead interconnection study processes with RTOs/ISOs and utilities.
• Develop and maintain plant models and produce clear study reports.
