Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer for our St. Louis, MO office to lead multi-disciplinary teams on power projects and guide technical direction. This role emphasizes design coordination, client relations, and ensuring code compliance across project phases.

The position involves mentoring staff, coordinating with project managers, and contributing to business development efforts within HDR's Power Generation group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
• Proficient in Power Market Sector design software: PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of design engineers with a multidiscipline team throughout the project’s development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
• Assume technical lead within a project execution team.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule.
• Mentor other engineering professionals and staff.

In the role of Senior Electrical Power Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Coordinate the work of design engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project’s development


• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings


• Assume technical lead within a project execution team


• Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance


• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines


• Coordinate workload throughout the project to complete project deliverables on schedule


• Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed


• Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed


• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Engineering


• Previous experience with an Engineering Consulting Firm

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering


• A minimum of 10 years of experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector


• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
