Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an Electrical/IT Inspector to perform quality assurance and construction inspections on large-scale building and infrastructure projects. This role ensures compliance with codes, contract documents and project specifications across electrical and IT systems.

The candidate will review drawings, prepare daily reports, verify NEC/NFPA compliance, and coordinate with contractors, engineers and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of electrical/IT inspection experience on commercial, institutional, industrial, or public works projects.
• Current ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification.
• NFPA 70E training completed within the past three (3) years.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training completed within the past four (4) years.
• Training and working knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 72.
• Fall protection and harness training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam, PM Web, or similar software.
• Ability to review electronic contract documents including drawings, specs, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive daily inspections of electrical and IT systems to ensure compliance with documents and codes.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and change orders.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting activities, deficiencies, safety concerns, progress and corrective actions.
• Verify contractor compliance with NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 72 standards.
• Track and document time-and-material work, field changes and installed quantities.
• Coordinate and support special inspections and testing with contractors and third‑party agencies.
• Inspect IT infrastructure installations, including cabling and access systems.
• Utilize project management software to review documents and maintain inspection records.
