Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Electrical Integration Engineer to join the AI&T team on the Terawave program in California.

You will own the electrical infrastructure for the Vehicle Test Bench and Flatsat, including rack wiring, cable harnesses, and integration of flight hardware and simulators. You will drive design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test feedback to scale bench architecture for high-rate production, while coordinating with EGSE, electrical, and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of electrical integration, avionics test, or harness design/installation experience in aerospace/defense environments.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, ICDs.
• Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, connector assembly, and rack wiring in production or lab settings.
• Experience verifying power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity on complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with ESD controls and IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design and install rack wiring, cable harnesses, and signal routing for the VTB and Flatsat; maintain wiring documentation.
• Integrate flight hardware, simulators, EGSE, and breakout boxes into the bench; verify interfaces against ICDs.
• Verify power distribution, grounding, and shielding per applicable standards; support power budget validation.
• Provide DFM and DFT feedback to design engineering on connector accessibility and test point placement.
• Support electrical interface verification activities with the Electrical Test team.
• Maintain ESD compliance, FOD prevention, and torque verification records across bench work.
• Coordinate with EGSE Electrical Engineers on signal integrity and interface requirements.
• Support anomaly investigation for bench electrical faults and perform root cause analysis.
• Participate in design reviews and provide inputs on electrical testability and manufacturability.

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Sr. Electrical Integration Engineer to join the AI&T team on the Terawave program. In this role you will own the design, build, and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure for the Vehicle Test Bench (VTB) and Flatsat - including rack wiring, cable harnesses, and integration of flight hardware, simulators, and EGSE. You will also drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) feedback to ensure the bench architecture scales to high-rate production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and install rack wiring, cable harnesses, and signal routing for the VTB and Flatsat; maintain as-built wiring documentation.

• Integrate flight hardware, simulators, EGSE, and breakout boxes into the bench; verify physical and electrical interfaces against ICDs.

• Verify power distribution, grounding, and shielding per applicable standards; support power budget validation.

• Provide DFM and DFT feedback to design engineering on connector accessibility, test point placement, harness routability, and mate/demate cycle life.

• Support electrical interface verification activities with the Electrical Test team.

• Maintain ESD compliance, FOD prevention discipline, and torque verification records across all bench electrical work.

• Coordinate with EGSE Electrical Engineers on signal integrity, grounding, and EGSE-to-bench interface requirements.

• Support anomaly investigation for bench electrical faults; perform root cause analysis on wiring and interface discrepancies.

• Participate in design reviews and provide inputs on electrical testability and manufacturing feasibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, Electronics Technology, or a closely related field.

• 7+ years of experience in electrical integration, avionics test, harness design/installation, or bench/GSE build in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics environment.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, and interface control documents (ICDs).

• Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, connector assembly, and rack wiring in a production or laboratory environment.

• Experience verifying power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity on complex electrical assemblies.

• Familiarity with ESD controls and workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and test disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or integrating spacecraft or launch vehicle ground support equipment, Flatsats, or test benches.

• Background with high-density connector systems (D-Sub, MIL-DTL-38999, or equivalent) in a space or defense application.

• Experience providing DFM/DFT feedback in a formal design review process.

• Familiarity with CAD/EDA tools for schematic capture or harness design (Zuken E3, CATIA Harness, or equivalent).

• Background in high-rate production environments where bench configurations served as templates for the production line.

• Familiarity with relevant standards: MIL-STD-461, ECSS, or NASA-STD-8739 series for workmanship and harness fabrication.

Base Pay Range for:
