Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to lead electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control system projects from concept to startup for our manufacturing operations. This short-term role serves as a technical leader to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance across capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and extensive industrial experience may be considered.
• Minimum of twenty years of experience in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
• Minimum of twenty years managing and executing industrial capital projects.
• Experience with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, contractor management, and commissioning.
• Experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, pulp and paper, or similar process industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of electrical and instrumentation capital projects from conception through startup and commissioning.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and resource plans.
• Manage expenditures and maintain cost control throughout lifecycles.
• Coordinate engineering activities with operations, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers.
• Review designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Oversee procurement, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Provide technical leadership for power distribution, substations, switchgear, MCCs, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and process control systems.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Lead startup planning, commissioning activities, and project closeout documentation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and project stakeholders.
